22 Feb Bel Air Auto Auction Continues Growth, Prepares for 72nd Anniversary Sale
BSC America has announced that Phase 2 of the lot expansion at Bel Air Auto Auction is
underway, with plans to add 12 acres of vehicle parking in time for the auction’s 72nd
Anniversary Celebration in April.
BSC America President R. Charles Nichols reports that the expansion will yield an
additional 1200 parking spots for consignment parking and storage. With weather cooperating,
the additional parking will be available for vehicles running in Bel Air Auto Auction’s 2‐day
Anniversary Sale event, on April 17th and 18th.
“Since we opened the all‐new Bel Air Auto Auction facility in the Fall of 2017, we have
experienced continued growth, adding important new accounts as well marking increases in overall consignment,” said Nichols. “Our goal has always been to pair growth in the marketplace with exemplary service to our customers. Adding more consignment parking is a vital step in processing the additional volume with ease and efficiency.”
Nichols notes that Bel Air Auto Auction has planned a two‐day event to celebrate its
72nd Anniversary. The festivities will begin at 10am on Wednesday, April 17th with a GM Closed and Honor Roll Sale. That evening, customers and staff will gather in the lanes for a Presale Happy Hour, with all enjoying food, drinks and music. Customers will return for the main event on Thursday, April 18th, when the season’s largest consignment of vehicles will run on ten auction lanes.

selling vehicles in the Mid‐Atlantic region.”
Bel Air Auto Auction facility opened its all‐new facility in September of 2017. Sited on
185 acres, the facility includes a 75,000‐square foot, 10‐lane auction facility, restaurant and
administrative office building, as well as a separate state‐of‐the‐art 50,000 square foot Vehicle
Enhancement Center which houses both mechanical and body shops, reconditioning bays, paint
booths and an imaging center. A separate building provides a streamlined check‐in facility for
dealers and transporters.
Bel Air Auto Auction is the flagship auction of the BSC America Auto Auction, with a
weekly sale on Thursday, a GM Financial Closed sale bi‐weekly on Wednesday, and a weekly
public sale. The auction’s Clayton Station facility handles the sale of rental scratch & dent units,
donations, salvage and inop units, along with a monthly Tuesday sale with powersports units,
heavy trucks and equipment.
In addition to the vast offering of vehicles from fleet companies and financial institution
customers, Bel Air Auto Auction has grown to become the largest independent auto auction
selling for new and independent dealers located in the Mid‐Atlantic region.
